What is Google Play?

Google's Market Android content was spread out, to say the least. Google Play has replaced the Android Market and a massive effort has been made by the mountain view company to unify its digital media services.  Google Play, a service that combines Google Music, Books, Movies, and Apps into one entertainment hub, is the new Android Market. This will have significant impact on how you buy and store your Android Smartphone Apps and other content

1. So what exactly is Google Play?
Google Music, Google eBookstore, and the Android Market have been joined to form Google Play. So all your smartphone, tablet and PC content such as music, movies, books, and apps will be bought from  play.google.com, and theoretically phone memory will become less as of an issue as this media will be  stored in the Google cloud. There will also be more synchronisation between your  Android phone or tablet using the various Google Play apps .
Web and mobile content will stay synced. So, when you purchase an apps and other media on the Play Web site, that content becomes instantly available on your Android phone (and/or tablet). You won't just be limited to using your Android Tablet to view content as  if you rent a movie on your Android tablet, it becomes available for viewing on your desktop, too.
And best of all it's all stored in the cloud so large memory is not needed for all the great content on the Play Store, really the equivalent of iCloud for Android.

2. Google Play is online, and will be in forthcoming updates for your Android Device.
The Play Store is already live at play.google.com. .Search for the Android Store,  and you'll be redirected to the Play Store.
On your Android device, you'll get four app updates within the next few days:
  • The Android Market will become "Play Store."
  • Google Music will become "Play Music."
  • Google Movies will become "Play Movies."
  • eBookstore will become "Play Books."
If you're that excited about the Play Store then just update and your phone manually for instant access.
3. Does Google Play allow you to store your own movies and music?
Up to 20,000 songs can be stored on the unchanged Google Music Service. It's name has changed to Play Music. Any music you already purchased or uploaded is still available, and you can continue uploading your tunes at the same address:  music.google.com, or with the useful Android music app, Play Music.
However Play Movies still remains a Blockbuster type service with movie rentals and not storage.
4. Can Iphone owners use Google Play.
Every Google user can use the service to take advantage of cloud-based content management. So, you can rent a movie, upload and purchase music, and buy books on one computer, and access it all on any other desktop. Whether this means a future update to access Google Play straight from your iOS device is perhaps likely in a future update.

5. Will Google Play's cloud-based format cost me a fortune in data charges?
Not if you're sensible. All your media is stored in the Google cloud, any of it is available for offline playback. That includes books, music, and rented movies. Of course, the amount of content you can store offline, or "cache," will be limited to your device's storage capacity. So use your Wi-Fi if you're going to download from Google Play for later app use, movie viewing etc.
 Google+ integration in Google Play
In Google's own words:  "You can easily share posts about your favorite books, music, movies, games, or apps to your Circles on Google+, e-mail, or text message in a single click."

For now we hope that answers your questions about where the Android market has gone and what to expect from Google Play

Improve your dating Game with Iphone's most realistic Dating Sim

Sexy Iphone Girls in the
foremost Dating Sim
So what is the best dating sim on Iphone? A question often posed to Gametrender and one that we're kinda going to explore here. Kinda, because I'm not sure that DATING SIM should be classified as a hook up game, a  flirt measuring app or a full blown dating advice app.

The app not only takes some fun dating concepts and very playable mechanics, but also throws in some of the hottest babes on Iphone and also has a solid foundation of scientific dating principles.

So what can you expect from this groundbreaking dating sim? The world's foremost dating experts have been drafted in to help on the app so it really sets itself apart from the run of the mill date simulations. Absolutely expect a host of different virtual girls to try your game out on. But then be prepared for some very different results if you expect this to play out as a normal boy gets girl game. It doesn't! These iOS girls are based on real personality profiles and dating situations and locations. Realism is paramount in the app and it can reportedly improve your dating and flirting skills.
Expert Dating Advice App

If you think that you're some kind of babe magnet this app could show you a very different side to yourself. it doesn't pull any punches and that's why rather then playing out as a game it becomes an actual app to improve your relationships. Handily when you play out the dating and flirting situations and get things horribly wrong the app will show you where you went wrong and shows its strength as being an app that can improve your flirting. A word of warning though, this app is definitely for adults as suggestive, racy concepts and potentially very sexy situations for those who want to 'go all the way'!

Add ease of use and an Ipad/Iphone photo gallery of some very sexy women and this proves to be the groundbreaking Dating Sim that it claims to be.

Best Free Ipad Apps according to Apple

Apple recently released links for the best Ipad Apps on the market. They were quick to take down the article, perhaps as the top free Ipad apps were taking thunder away from other app downloads. If you're lucky enough to be an Ipad owner and want to find the best apps for free , then here is what Apple themselves recommend:

Best Ipad (Ipad HD ?) Apps for free -list from Apple

25 All-Time Top Free iPad Apps

Three entries from Angry birds which is guaranteed to look lush on the Ipad 3. Personally I've always been a fan of the weather graphics from the Weather Channel-something very therapeutic about looking at stormy weather from the comfort of a warm and dry amrchair! Again the Weather Channel on Ipad HD is something to look forward to with the new Ipad's near retina display graphics. And of course the bright colorful graphics of Fruit Ninja on Ipad HD will be something worth savouring. Of note though is that the official free app list from Apple is very America-centric with apps from CNN and NYTimes scoring highly. It would be nice if Apple had a more global top 25 free app list.

Of course none of these free apps are optimised for Ipad HD yet but are certainly, according to Apple at least, worth downloading whichever version of Ipad you have.

Reasons to Not buy an Ipad 3

The web soothsayers had it right again with their Ipad predictions. March 7 has come and gone and the foretold unveiling of Ipad 3 or Ipad 2S or Ipad HD, or whatever they're trying to call it, has come and gone. Does the new Apple Tablet deliver the goods? Is all the fanfare and excitement over the new IOS product justified. I'm going to say no.

Before I'm lynched let me explain that I do own an Ipad 2 , crucial for reviewing all the great apps on the app store. And I might be disappointed with the new Cupertino announcements, but that doesn't mean I'm any less excited.

So what reasons are there not to buy the Ipad HD?

  • You're still stuck with the Apple eco-system. It's Itunes or nothing. So Apple censorship and control is still there, unless you go down the route of jailbreaking your Ipad 3. Do you really want to do that with an 800 Dollar/600 Pound Plus tablet?
  • Apple why do you still not have USB compatability or at least memory stick use for the new Ipad? The largest model, which is still at a premium price, has a paltry 64GB memory. If Apple really wants to make their tablets a household standard and make PC's and Laptops redundant this is simply not good enough. 64GB is a tiny and insignificant amount of memory-especially if you're going to be downloading HD movies for your Ipad 3. It's a travesty that there is not any sort of out the box extended memory capability.
  • Proprietary Apple 30 pin connector. Really? With new USB standards and firewire rearing their heads is this really the best Apple can do.
  • Apple Ipad 3 appearance. Notably on the press releases Apple were reluctant to picture the old and new Idevices together. And rightly so, Ipad HD looks exactly the same as its predecessor but has put on weight! It's 2012 for goodness sake, look at all that tablet real estate lost by having a massive bezel. Again Apple , is this the best that you can do?
  • Still only 10 hour battery life. The new Idevice is an evolution not a revolution. With tech wizards already supposedly trialling new uber long life batteries such as fuel cells one can only say that once again Apple has not tried hard enough.
  • Quad Core Processor. Fantastic. 1GHZ Quad Core?  Not so fantastic. 1GHZ for a laptop beating , cutting edged tablet? Quad Core or not , again Apple seems to have put in processing power that while undoubtedly good, even very good, is already being overtaken by the Tegra 2 and Scorpion Mobile chipsets.
  • The Ipad 2 was not released too long ago, by the fact that Apple haven't evolved the new Ipad to be an everything beater says that the life cycle is again expected to be relatively short. So come a year or at an outset 2 years time, tech that is readily available today is going to be shoehorned into the new super tablet, Ipad 4 emerges and again evolves. But with tech that is already on the shelf now, and should be included in the Ipad 3!
  • Where is Siri on the new Ipad? Oh, wait I think Apple has forgotten to include the voice assistant!
  • 4G LTE connectivity, fantastic if you live in the USA or any other 4G region. But an extra 100 or 200 hundred of your local currency that's going to be wasted if you're still living in the 3G stoneage.
  • The screen is undeniably fantastic on the new Ipad, but at what cost to the processing power and you'd better make sure all downloading is via Wi-Fi , because mobile data plans are going to struggle with those hefty HD movie downloads.

Doubtless Ipad HD will once again sell in its millions and be the best tablet on the market. But I can't but help feel cheated so much more is capable and possible. That said I'll doubtless end up buying the new tablet, the screen at least is cutting edge. And Ipad apps far and away blow the competition out of the water. Still rather then overwhelming excitement for the new Apple device I instead feel just a little bit cheated.

PS. Samsung and HTC and Sony and friends, you're losing the tablet war. So next time we see an Android powered tablet you'd better give us something fantastic. Because we really can't afford an Android Tablet and an Ipad too!

PPS I'm still looking for mention as to Ipad HD's Flash Player compatability. Another question tellingly left out of the Apple press conference.

Indie Game Development gets Serious

Xbox Live; Steam and iOS have changed the face of game development. In yesteryears top apps and games were strictly the remit of large game developers. Now the boundaries are levelled and any and everybody with a bit of technical expertise can become an app or game developer thanks to the new gaming markets realised by Apple ; Xbox (Microsoft) and the like. However it still takes passion, expertise and a certain sparkle to be a good game developer on a small budget. Gametrender has heard rumours of a small Indie Company that has these qualities in spades and has hunted down one of the developers behind the very progressive and serious indie game development studio " Pretty Weird Entertainment" to give an insiders scoop on an exciting Indie Project.

The team behind the indie game studio are set on releasing a title in summer 2013. What strikes us most about the devs is that they are backed up by some lofty ideals and expertise , that if translated into their game could give other quirky , but brilliant games, like SuperMeatBoy a very good run for their money.

What can we expect from Pretty Weird?
Take 4 player local co-op as found in hits like Castle Crashers, add a well designed and entertaining weapon system like that found in Cave Story, make the game a platformer based on the design principles of color theory and you just start to scratch the surface of what first Indie Title : SLUGGER  has to offer. The sparkling personalities behind the looming Indie hit want to make a game that is " fun to play, but is also fun to look at". Their promise to 'take weird to the next level' with "a fire spitting slug on a quest to save the Land of Underfoot" is a gaming promise that we sincerely wish to hold them to, as this Indie outfit looks to be ticking all the right boxes at the moment.
Gametrender is fortunate enough to have gained access to some exclusive gaming screenshots and concept art that we're proudly going to share with the gaming community, please add your comments and support to the Indie Hit SLUGGER and get ready for a promo title scheduled for release this May.

Android Business App which massively increases WebTraffic

Android Business app to
increase website awareness
A so-called unacknowledged fact is that " Android business apps are better than the rest" . The web guru who decided that hadn't yet come across the bold web traffic Android app that is MyTrafficSolution . If he had he would have told all non-Android business app developers to just pack up and go home. This app is transformative and I'm just going to put myself out there a little bit and say that it could be one of the best apps for a blogger, network marketer or website owner to have.

I'm actually reluctant to write this review for two reasons. The first being that I sound like those much flogged internet pedlars that will sell you a product "guaranteed to increase your web-traffic a gazillion fold!" The second reason is that this is a fairly new business app just recently released on to the Android Market. Being a website owner myself I'm fairly reluctant to share the app as it really is starting to make a dramatic impact on my web traffic! Don't want to let the cat too much out of the bag on this hefty traffic increasing app, but it's Gametrender's job to tell you about the best new apps. So I suppose I'll have to....

The premise is simple, you have a website or blog or affiliate link that you want to drive masses of traffic to. You download MyTrafficSolution , choose which niche you want to target, for example: "Best free Android Apps" and you wait for thousands of eager people to start showing up on your websites doorstep.
MyTrafficSolution, top
Android business app

The internet magic takes place as the app has access to a massive domain of websites. If a visitor visits one of the websites that is now defunct, then they will be redirected via the Android app to you. If your site is in the same niche. The beauty of it is those visitors have actually searched for your particular niche, they're not automated traffic but actually real verifiable adult people. All eager to read what you have to say or buy what you have to sell , thanks to this extraordinary Android app for website owners and bloggers.

The app is even more intelligent than this as it links in to the acclaimed Arin.net so can determine a site visitors geographic location. Not to mention that the app also features IP tracking that can show you the IP address of all your redirect visitors.

To sum up: This is a very, very serious and powerful app for making your site visitors skyrocket. This app could just be the catalyst that puts your blog or other website into the big time.

Spy Mouse HD :Tips and Guide for finding secrets

Spy Mouse HD Hints and Tips
Spy Mouse is one of those games needing a guide to get the most out of it,as it is filled with secrets and you're going to need some tips to make you the best spy mouse.

SpyMouse Guide for getting high scores and finding Spy mouse secrets

App Tip One

Cats are the enemy in this app , but thankfully these aren't the cleverest examples of the feline world. Cats will charge you to try to catch you, if you hug the wall they'll knock themselves out on it when they miss you.

App Tip Two

Look carefully at the cats
path in Spy Mouse ,before you make your move

Just like in all the great stealth 'em ups like Metal Gear Solid ,the key to success in Spy Mouse HD is watching and observing your enemies and their behaviour. Be patient and watch the cats' paths, judge your openings one by one until it's time to make your move.

App Tip Three
Don't get weighed down unnecessarily . Cheese is what you want to get in this stealth app but if you're not certain it's best to leave it behind between safe points as it will slow you down.

App Tip Four
To find bonus areas in Spy Mouse or even completely new world stages look for cracks in the walls which often hide the apps secrets.

App Tip Five
Speed-up chilli peppers and light weight balloons can make the game easier , but consider when you actually need to use them.

App Tip Six
Agent Squeak is the master of stealth but also the master of finding new and hidden spy mouse paths that will lead to new stages and bonuses. Drag Agent Squeak away from the set paths to find these in app secrets.

App Tip Seven
The key to getting high scores in Spy Mouse HD is to avoid the game power-ups altogether. Survive without using speed-up chilli peppers and other power-ups and you'll get extra points.

App Tip Eight
Dossiers littered around the game world are filled with crucial information about upcoming enemies and abilities that you can unlock. Keep an eye out for them as they can really make a difference to your game.

App Tip Nine
The app is great as it has such an interactive environment. Play with everything in the app as you never know what could help you out. For example Fish,TV's and balls of yarn can be used to distract the enemy cats.

Spy Mouse one of the best stealth apps on Android and iOS. Hopefully these tips will make your Agent Squeak be more like Solid Snake than Mickey Mouse!

Why Boardgames being turned into apps is a very good thing

In conjunction with the review for the iOS board game adaptation of "It's Alive" Gametrender was lucky enough to speak to the creator of the app, Jeremy Maher. Jeremy shares an app developers insight into why the boardgames into apps trend is a great idea for the gaming industry as a whole. If you’re interested in becoming a developer, check out Guide to Career Education to find current colleges offering degrees in web and game design.   Over to App developer Jeremy Maher for his ideas:

"My game ( "Yehuda Berlinger's It's Alive" ) is part of a growing trend of adapting physical board and card games into apps. One of the primary advantages for players is portability, but also the electronic games almost always sell for considerably less than their physical counterparts. With AI (computer) opponents, single players can play by themselves. And in the case of IT'S ALIVE!, the original game had limited distribution and is now out of print, and thus the worldwide availability of my app opens it up to a whole new audience.

Jeremy uses Corona to develop his apps and gives his recommendation and opinions on using the popular SDK to create some world class apps:

"I'm also proud of my accomplishment as a solo developer. This was my first commercial project with Corona, and my first time programming with Lua. As I mentioned, I obviously benefitted from use of the original illustrations, but there was still considerable work adapting them for use in the app. I do regret not being able to offer networked multiplayer features, but they were simply too costly and time consuming"

Here at Gametrender we hope that "It's Alive " will get a ton of downloads for a very good iOS board game adaptation which will help move the app forward with some more exciting features.

iPad Board Game :It's Alive

We love to game and have an amazing collection of board games cluttering up the cupboard. But with iPad and iPhone being such a game changer, board games are quickly becoming redundant. One of the more entertaining and less well known iOS board games we've come across is " It's Alive". Or to give it it's full name " Yehuda Berlinger's It's Alive" One of the great things about the iPad board games, aside from the obvious saving space and not paying out a fortune for paper and card games, is the fact that all games from the relatively obscure to the household staples will eventually become available.

Ipad Board game: It's Alive
It's a rare treat when something like " It's Alive" is released for iOS as whatever success the original hard copy of the game has had can be revivified and made new on the touchscreen. Does this board game deserve to be on your iDevice , and even in your gaming cupboard, Yes!

It's a very polished effort combining some simple but competitive gameplay with a suitable soundtrack and custom artwork. We haven't played the original but might see if we can seek it out as the game plays very well with some good mechanics. RH Aidley illustrates the game and does a very good job of combining just a touch of the sinister while still making the game friendly for all ages. The music too is very appropriate and spooky with suitable sound effects, something that the original board game of course can't deliver.

Throwing in words like spooky and sinister iOS game and you might start to wonder what this one is about. Well quite simply the aim is to be a modern Frankenstein and build a body! Combining the staples of a boardgame and cardgame in one, you draw cards from a deck and use them to build that body until "it's alive". Without going into too many of the games rules it's easy to pick up and play and has wild cards and cards that can ruin your game too. The board for this one is the slab upon which your body is built. Quite simply you race against the other players, 5 humans can play or just you against the four AI players. Strategy comes into it as you decide to buy or sell the cards that come out the deck or ransom others cards. Played with the Basic or Advanced rules you can either be the first to build the body or can be declared the winner when the body is built and you have the highest value hand.

The board game works very well on the iPod Touch , which is the device that we've used to review it. On iPad the game would work even better as the lavish illustrations do deserve a bigger screen to be shown off on. The Pass and Play function of this boardgame works very well and the game proceeds smoothly. Stats are also included to keep a running total of who's the better player. AI is also done very well, but could do with a few more AI players and varying difficulty levels.

Other touches we'd like to see included in future updates are multi device play and a better celebration of a game win.

But all in all a very good adaptation of a boardgame , that like the body that you're attempting to build, really does deserve to see the light of day.

Minecraft Pocket Edition: Hints, Tips and Guide

As Minecraft Pocket Edition has expectedly proved popular on Ipad, Android and iPhone there's become an enormous need to have a "Minecraft Pocket Edition Guide/Walkthrough" . Gametrender hears the call and delivers with the most up to date info for the popular MOJANG game which is now eating up our mobile lives too. (UPDATE: dUE TO NEW IMPROVEMENTS IN MINECRAFT pe WE NOW HAVE A GUIDE TO CRAFTING ,SMELTING ETC. ENJOY : http://www.gametrender.net/2012/08/minecraft-pocket-edition-guide-to.html

Minecraft Background
You know why you're here and that's to find the best app hints , tips and secrets for the iOS/Android version, but a quick intro to Pocket Edition first. We all know the original free roaming block builder which caused an internet sensation. The Pocket edition was originally released last year Minecraft Pocket Edition on the Xperia Play. The lite version didn't include the much needed mobs and had limited blocks to play with. Other Android Phones and an iOS Minecraft version soon followed and the latest version even includes mobs with the addictive Minecraft survival mode now included.
Differences Between Minecraft Classic and Pocket Edition
If you're a Minecraft Veteran don't expect to be an instant expert at the Touchscreen game version as there are many differences:
Sword is quickest to  kill mobs (two hits).Axe takes 3 hits. Pickaxe  4 hits. And shovel takes 4 hits. Fist (or blocks) takes 10 hits.)
Tricks, bugs and secrets of Minecraft Pocket Edition that can be exploited
Trivia
  • The only Lighting blocks available in the Pocket Edition are:Torches, Lava and Fire .
  • If you want the full Minecraft experience then you'll have to go for the paid edition as you are limited to 27 Blocks  in the Pocket Edition Demo.
  • You can't share save files between Minecraft Pocket and the PC version, cross compatability is something that is desperately needed for an update as so many players have invested so much time on the PC version, rather than the relatively minimal time on the iPhone and other stripped down versions.
  • You can have skins on the IOS version by replacing char.png in the app file.[18]
  • You won't be able to see fire in the Pocket Edition unless you place a flammable block next to fire.
  • Don't let the frozen lava fool you, it will move if forced.
  • The auto jump feature won't work on leaves if you go from a standing start with the best graphics on.
  • You can't burn a Minecraft Zombie mob if it's in water.
  • Shear a sheep to get white wool Minecraft blocks.
  • The app won't register leaves as having any solidity so you can't place a torch on them.
  • At last the new Minecraft pocket Edition has a day/night cycle (well when else did you expect the mobs to come out?).
  • Zombies Mobs emerge at night, but expect a few hanger on Zombies to be lurking in the day too.
  • When flying, if you double-tap the up key, you will ascend. If you double-tap the down key, you will descend
Ipad Minecraft Pocket Edition Hints
There are some strange things that can happen in the iPad version of Minecraft, a savvy player can use these iPad flaws to his advantage
1) Sugar will float on water. You can place sugar cane on snow, but if you place a second one next to it the first disappears.
2) If you build a tower on the edge of a world you can traverse off the edge but you can't fly up or down.Walk too far and the app crashes.
3) In both the  creative mode and surival mode, if you break the block a torch or ladder is on, or you place one under water, it will become something that you can collect
4) In both creative and survival, fence with no other blocks with in the same altitude or higher of a radius of ten blocks (half a circle surrounding the fence), the fence will not render but rather become 'invisible'.
5) You can't place torches on fences
Mojang reports on Minecraft Pocket Bugs and gives advice
Here's the latest word from the app developers that should give you some advice about improving your Pocket Edition capabilities:
  • Some resources cannot be picked up (cloth will be pickup able when crafting is introduced)
  • If you were on fire when you died you would respawn on fire
A lot of people have reported that you can't fly in Creative which is wrong. First double tap the jump button. Then you double tap up and or down to go up or down
Which Android Phones will Minecraft Work on?
I think minecraft pocket edition wont work on phones under 800mhz cpu ,also  Android OS 2.2 or later
- The device must have a CPU that supports floating-point calculations ("ARM-v7a code")
- The screen must support multi-touch
According to the official Minecraft Wiki the official phones that Minecraft will work on are:

  • Sony Ericsson Xperia Play[15]
  • Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray[16][17]
  • Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro[17

  • How to Play Minecraft pocket edition on iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch
The system requirements for the iOS version of Pocket Edition are:
    • An iOS device with iOS 4.3 or newer (Armv7 Only).
    • 4.2 MB of available storage space.

After all an online casino now seems to be the premier way of making a quick buck. Fancy a quick flutter and can't afford that trip to Vegas or negotiating that harsh outdoor weather, then these virtual gambling meccas could be just what you need. That iPad app will give you a taste for slots and more, but the experts all agree that venturing online to find your gambling fix is the way forward with increased payouts and more features, bells and whistles than any physical casino could provide. Landbound gambling is filled with seedy individuals and machines used and abused by hundreds of people. All watched over by the beady eye of security cameras, not at all the comfortable, fun venue that a gaming den should be. So better odds and more fun, all from the comfort of your own home. Sounds good to us.
Oh and of course as your Android tablets and iPads connect to the internet too you don't even need a laptop for a bit of cheeky gambling fun.
