Record Breaking PC Game - Diablo 3

Chances are you've heard of the Diablo franchise over the years, referenced at least once in a movie or pc game review. Diablo 3, like it's award winning predecessors, it is an action role-playing game. The game currently has the record for most sold pc game in the first 24 hours of release (3.5million). Find out what so many people bought and are talking about. Blizzard Entertainment is the name of the company that brings you this epic game. They have also brought you the World of Warcraft franchise and Starcraft franchise. Game Review Sites have given the game really high scores. It's been a dozen years since the last Diablo game was released. The story takes place 20 years after those events.

There are 5 classes to choose from, Barbarian, Demon Hunter, Monk, Witch Doctor and Wizard. Have up to 3 followers (nonhuman players) that assist you on your journey(one at a time). 3 Classes of followers are available. Enchantress, Scoundrel, and Templar. Followers even have lots of voice acting done to give you their background and characters. Great voice acting is usually a sign of the work put into a game, and quality the game possesses. Random thought: The games intro reminds me of 300, Final Fantasy, and Resident Evil in that order. The cinematic CGI cutscenes rival that of Final Fantasy cutscenes in detail.

Graphics are definitely up to date(for 2012 that's a wonderful thing). Environments looks like a whole deal of effort was put into it. At least some of the areas are also randomly generated. Monsters randomly spawn so that each time through an area is never the same. Special effects of moves and abilities are beautiful and pretty. Yes, 3D games looks better if they are beautiful and pretty, even if most players are likely guys. The official website doesn't let it's videos be watched in low resolution, which shouldn't be allowed for a game of this 3D caliber.

A working feature of the game is the option to easily to join other players in battles. Team up to make games funner, but watch out. Having other human players makes the enemies stronger, which makes sense. When on team missions with human players, your followers don't show up to help you. This is probably to balance and make the screen less chaotically full of characters.

Some players may not like some of the changes. But for the most part the changes seem to be good. It keeps a lot of the Diablo features. Diablo 3 feels more complete and player friendly. For example the easier teleporting, reassignable attribute skillpoints, and default moves gained on level up. Looting is a big part of the game. Collecting gold and treasures and dropped items.

A few minor things
The game requires that you have access to the internet at all times of playing. During launch, the servers were not capable of supporting all the players that bought the game. So some players didn't get to play a game that they purchased. This has been fixed I believe. Others have pointed out that the game doesn't have much interaction that is decided on your class. You could customize your followers equipment, but not very much. According to some sources, there isn't aa ending cutscene, just a screen saying it's the end. This is horribly confusing because games with big cutscenes usually have some sort of ending scene. The last scene can be meaningless people cheering for the end with some triumphing music playing and green mountains in the background with no real purpose, but at least that makes you scratch your head less and feels more complete. PvP was mentioned by the developer but so far it isn't available yet. Using real world money is coming soon, and should catch the interest of many players.

Each of the first two Diablo games has had an expansion pack and this one will most likely have one as well.  The Blizzard Entertainment PC games still sell quite well several years after their releases. Diablo 3 is definitely part of PC Gaming history. If you call yourself a gamer, you should experience some of this for yourself.
